ChatIBD 2.2

• Upgraded the base model to GPT-5.6 Luna for improved reasoning and instruction-following. ChatIBD-2.2 is now the default for new chats.
• Guideline retrieval now reranks a wider pool of candidate passages before the assistant sees them, so the passages behind an answer are more likely to be the ones that actually address the question.

Knowledge base updates

• Added three ECCO guidelines to the knowledge base: Therapeutics in Ulcerative Colitis — Medical Treatment (2026), Therapeutics in Ulcerative Colitis — Surgical Treatment (2026), and Prevention, Diagnosis, and Management of Infections in IBD (2026).
• The 2026 medical treatment guideline replaces the 2022 ECCO UC medical treatment guideline, which has been retired from retrieval (retained for provenance of earlier answers).
• Added the Green Book chapters on yellow fever (chapter 35) and dengue (chapter 15a). Both are live vaccines, so the assistant can now answer whether they are contraindicated for patients on IBD immunosuppression.

Green Book influenza and pneumococcal chapters added

• Added the Green Book chapters on influenza and pneumococcal vaccination to the knowledge base, extending vaccination guidance for immunosuppressed IBD patients.

ChatIBD-2 retired

• ChatIBD-2 is no longer selectable. All chat traffic uses ChatIBD-2.1.
• If your browser still had ChatIBD-2 selected, it will silently switch to ChatIBD-2.1 on your next visit.
• Document routing no longer uses a separate regex-based prompt path — documents are created via the canvas tools introduced in 2.1.

ChatIBD 2.1

• Document creation is now part of the main chat. The assistant decides whether a message needs a quick answer or a written deliverable (clinic letter, patient leaflet, or checklist).
• The knowledge base now includes official drug-label documents (SmPC/EPAR) for 16 IBD therapies: 13 advanced therapies plus azathioprine, mercaptopurine, and methotrexate. Dosing, monitoring, contraindication, and safety answers cite the label with its revision date.
• Questions needing both guidance and drug specifics (for example, comparing two drugs) now draw on guidelines and drug labels together.
• For drugs that are not indexed, or an unknown or misspelled drug name, the assistant says so rather than guessing.
• Generated documents can now be exported to Word (DOCX) or copied as Markdown or plain text, so a letter or leaflet is ready to drop into clinic systems.

ChatIBD validation study is now live

• The ChatIBD validation study is now live. We're inviting users to take part in evaluating how the assistant performs.

Improved multilingual retrieval

• Questions asked in other languages now search the knowledge base more reliably. The assistant searches our English-indexed sources in English behind the scenes, so non-English queries return more relevant evidence.
• Responses are unchanged in this respect. They still come back in the language you asked in.

Legacy models retired

• With ChatIBD 2 fully in production, the older "Clinical Guidelines" and "Guidelines + Web Search" models have been retired. ChatIBD 2 is now the single model, answering from the curated, sentence-cited knowledge base rather than open web search.

ChatIBD 2.0

• Answers now run on a rebuilt retrieval engine that surfaces the specific source sentence behind each statement, rather than pointing to a whole document.
• Citations appear inline at the sentence level. Clicking a citation opens a source detail panel with the full reference context, so you can check whether the evidence actually applies.
• Upgraded to GPT-5.4 mini for improved response quality and instruction-following.
• Updated the drug dosing detection model to GPT-5.4 mini.
• Product update emails are now sent to users. You can manage your preferences from your profile settings.

Green Book chapters added

• Added the Green Book chapters on shingles and varicella to the knowledge base.

AGA moderate-to-severe Crohn's guideline added

• Added the AGA Living Clinical Practice Guideline on the Pharmacologic Management of Moderate-to-Severe Crohn's Disease (2025) to the knowledge base.

Deep research search guardrails

• Deep research prompts now trigger web search automatically when the knowledge base lacks a direct answer.
• Web search is now limited to vetted, authoritative clinical domains.
• Renamed the "Knowledge Base" model to "Clinical Guidelines".
• Renamed the "Deep Research" model to "Guidelines + Web Search".

GPT-5.1 upgrade

• Upgraded from GPT-4.1 to GPT-5.1 across chat and document creation.

Drug dosing detection model update

• Updated the drug dosing detection model from gpt-5-mini to grok-4-fast-reasoning for improved accuracy.

Voice input

• Added speech recognition so questions can be dictated instead of typed.
• Voice-captured queries receive the same guidance as typed requests.

STELARA PRES safety alert added

• Added the STELARA (ustekinumab) safety communication on the occurrence of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) to the knowledge base.

ACG adult IBD guidelines added

• Added the ACG Clinical Guideline Update on Ulcerative Colitis in Adults (2025) and the ACG Clinical Guideline on the Management of Crohn's Disease in Adults (2025) to the knowledge base.
